A young boy had to be cut from the vehicle he and three other family members were in after it rolled several times in an accident near Te Kuiti today.
The vehicle rolled several times along the road and came to rest on its side on State Highway 3 north
of Piopio (24km south-west of Te Kuiti) about lunchtime today, said a spokesperson for the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance.
A family of four was in the vehicle and the child, who suffered a head injury, was trapped until the fire service released him.
The boy was helicoptered to Waikato hospital while the other patients, with lesser injuries, were taken to hospital by ambulance.
