Boy, 3, found wandering in Christchurch identified

The three year-old boy found wandering in central Christchurch has been identified.

Inspector John Doherty said it is not known what led to the boy walking off.

Police had been looking after the boy at the central Christchurch station.

Police issued a plea to the media to broadcast the story in the hope of finding the boy's parents.

Mr Doherty said earlier that the boy, who was found in Stanmore Rd, was "quite happy" but had not been able to give police his name.
