Boy, 13, involved in Northland arson: police

A 13-year-old boy will be dealt with by Youth Aid over his involvement in yesterday's fire and burglary at a community centre in Ruakaka, near Whangarei, police say.

The fire, in the early hours of the morning, caused extensive damage to the Bream Bay Community Support Trust.

The Bream Bay Recreation Centre, part of the complex, had also been broken into, said Northland police spokeswoman Sarah Kennett.

Police had not ruled out the possibility that others were involved in the incident.
