Bottles hurled and couches burned at Dunedin party

Police were called to a party in North Dunedin last night after firefighters putting out couch fires reported bottles being thrown.

Fire Service southern communications said police were called to Howe St about 11pm after firefighters from Willowbank Station extinguished two couches on fire in the street and reported bottles being hurled.

"There is a large party on Howe St and there are reports people are throwing bottles," he said.

The firefighters had not reported any injuries and had left the street before police arrived, he said.
