Borren gets extension to contract

The chief executive of Masterton District Council Pim Borren has had his employment contract extended for a further two years.

This was agreed at a council meeting on Wednesday which was closed to the press and public.

All councillors voted in favour of the extension which takes effect on July 1 next year and runs through until June 30, 2018.

The extension came about following a statutory review required under the terms of the Local Government Act 2002.

The terms of Dr Borren's employment remain unchanged.
