Bomb squad called to Te Arai property after ‘unknown substance’ found

A report of an unknown substance has escalated, prompting the bomb squad to respond to the scene of concern in northern Auckland.

The New Zealand Defence Force’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NZDF EOD) team is at the scene of a property in Te Arai, Stuff reported.

Police told Stuff they received a report of an “unknown substance”.

The substance was located at an address on Mangawhai Rd at 11.18am.

“NZDF EOD have been contacted and are en route to the property, which is being cordoned off,” police said.

Police and the New Zealand Defence Force have been approached for comment.
