Police have located the body of a man who was swept away while crossing Waiwhakaiho River near New Plymouth this afternoon.
A search party was quickly deployed after a member of the public reported seeing a man being swept away.
Acting Sergeant Peter Lawn said the body was found approximately
200m from where he was last seen.
Police are working to formally identify the man and notify next of kin.
