Body found in Turangi River

A body, found in the Turangi River at about 3pm this afternoon is believed to be that of a fisherman.

Police say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

The man's body has been removed from the river and taken to Turangi where further enquires will be made.

Police will not be making any further comment until the body has been identified and next of kin have been informed.
