The body of a man has been found after more than 100 volunteers went looking for Gary Elliot, a 48 year-old who went missing north of Christchurch.
Mr Elliot's car was found in the Bottle Lake Plantation car park yesterday.
Police had concerns for his safety, and this afternoon the
search concluded after a body was found.
The body was not yet formally identified and police have alerted a Coroner.
Canterbury Police thanked the Search and Rescue volunteers who helped with the search.
