Save Police found a body in bush northwest of Turangi but say the death is not suspicious.
Police recovered the body on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Tony Manunui of the Taupo CIB said the body was that of a 43-year-old Turangi man.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this man's death and
the matter is being referred to the Coroner."
The name of the deceased man will not be released until all next of kin have been advised.
