Body found floating in Hauraki Gulf

The body of a yachtsman has been found in the Hauraki Gulf.

Orewa police sergeant Greg Foster told NZPA the 66-year-old man's body was recovered about 1.30pm yesterday, near Kawau Island.

The man's yacht was found washed up nearby at Waiwera.

Mr Foster said police did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

The man's name would be released once next-of-kin had been notified.
