A body has been found at Muriwai beach in Auckland.

A body has been found at Muriwai beach in Auckland, believed to be that of a man who went missing last month.

Police were called to the beach, about 15km north of Rimmer Rd, near the bombing range at 6.30pm yesterday.

They said they believed the body was of a man who went missing on February 26 while swimming at the beach.

Formal identification will take place today.
