Just as the new BMW 4 Series coupe is launched in Australasia this week, the German company has announced it's producing a convertible version of the mid-size car.
Based on the design of the 4 Series coupe, the convertible sets itself apart from the BMW 3 Series through several distinguishingtechnical features.
The new BMW 4 Series convertible is visibly larger in width, track and wheelbase than the BMW 3 Series convertible. The vehicle's impeccable balance of proportions and characteristic flowing lines stem from the typical BMW short overhangs front and rear, the stretched bonnet and set-back passenger compartment. The striking BMW design features up front - such as the double-kidney grille, twin circular headlights and the large air intakes in the front apron - are keen to display this convertible's family ties with the BMW 3 Series.
The 4 Series convertible is visibly larger in width, track and wheelbase than the 3 Series version, with overhangs front and rear, the stretched bonnet and set-back passenger compartment.
At the international launch, the 4 Series will come with a four- or six-cylinder petrol engine or four-cylinder diesel powertrain, covering the performance range from 135kW to 225kW across the range.
