Big wins on Lotto

An 84-year-old great-grandfather has a million reasons to smile after striking it lucky on Lotto's winning wheel last night.

Arfon Williams became the 11th person to land a $1 million top prize.

It was the first big win for the New Plymouth pensioner, who buys a ticket every week.

A lucky powerball winner will take home $4.3m after buying a ticket at Whitcoull's on Colombo St, Christchurch.

The winner picks up the $4m Powerball prize as well as one third of the $1m first division prize.

The other first division winners, who bought their tickets in Manukau and Waitakere, each take home $333,333.
