The Red Checkers flying team get a unique perspective on Auckland with some last-minute practice for today's Air Force open day at Whenuapai. The show will feature aerobatics from the team, as well as pilots demonstrating the abilities of the Hercules, Boeing 757 and Orion, and the Iroquois, Sioux and Seasprite helicopters. Kiwi Blue, the Air Force parachute display team, will also drop in for the occasion, and on the ground there will be a chance to see all the aircraft close up.

Gates open at 9am, and flying displays are scheduled to start at 11am.
