Stewart Murray Wilson's new home outside the fence of Whanganui Prison has arrived, but it's likely to be another three weeks before it will be ready for him to move in.
Wilson, who served 18 years of a 21-year sentence for multiple sex crimes against women, children and animals, was
released on parole to the prison's self-care units last week while he waited for his new home to be readied.
The small two-bedroom yellow weatherboard house arrived at the prison on trucks on Tuesday night.
A "sold'' sticker and a figure of $45,000 could be seen on two of the windows of the house. It is understood to have been built in the 1980s, modernised in 2011, and transported to Wanganui from Auckland.
Wilson is expected to live in the house, situated on prison grounds between the self-care units and the prison walls, for the next three years of his parole, and be subject to 17 strict conditions.
