A Bay of Plenty woman has died after she was attacked by two dogs this morning.
The 56-year-old woman, from Murupara, 65km south east of Rotorua, was attacked by the dogs while out walking early this morning, police said.
Rotorua CIB Detective Sergeant John Wilson said nearby residents
heard a commotion and intervened.
Police and ambulance were informed about 7am.
Rotorua and Murupara police are investigating.
Mr Wilson said the woman's name would be released later today.
