"They were drinking beers and eating bowls of chips. There was no bother. Everybody was having a great time."
Mr Stringer said the bar would be opening an hour before the 5am kick-off next Sunday.
On the North Shore, the Takapuna Bar manager Alok Ravindran said more staff would be on duty on Sunday.
"It was more coffees and water in demand by our aged-35-plus crowd," he said of yesterday's early morning patrons.
About 25 watched the game at Tactics Sports Bar in Highland Park, East Auckland, but duty manager Sonny Virk said next Sunday, about 40 regulars were expected. "Everyone is so excited for the final."
Meanwhile, Kiwi fans are gearing up for next weekend. Karen Browne wrote on Facebook: "Bring home the cup All Blacks."
And even South Africans were getting behind the New Zealanders after the Springboks fell at Twickenham.
"From a South African - well done All Blacks," wrote Chris Nemeth. "It is sad for us, but there is no team we would rather be beaten by. It was a great game, with great sportsmanship. Now go and finish this."
Inspector Mark Benefield said he was pleased that fans were generally well behaved for the semifinal.
"We're asking for the same for next weekend.
"We will have a high visibility around ... the city centre for the final.
"We would remind anyone who is planning to go out to watch the matches that we will be out in force and hope that they enjoy the festivities responsibly."
Throughout the country, 343 bars were certified to serve alcohol while screening the All Blacks vs South Africa game.
