Barltrop's altar plans put on hold

Mike Barltrop, the driver of the car that hit Possum Bourne's car, has postponed his wedding this month.

The 38-year-old said he could not even contemplate his marriage, to fiancee Rebecca Greer, 23.

His father, Charles Barltrop, said his son was not feeling too good. Barltrop had long been a fan of Possum Bourne, and some years ago bought a rally car off him.

"Possum didn't just sell him the car, he kept in contact over the years," said his father.

Charles Barltrop said he wrote to Peggy Bourne to "let her know that Possum had always been his idol and that Michael's injury pales in comparison to her sorrow".
