Barge load of sand ready for Oriental Bay

The first barge-load of sand for Oriental Bay's upgraded beach arrived in Wellington yesterday from Takaka near Nelson.

Eight trucks will be transporting the 7700 tonnes of sand to the beach, collectively making up to 23 journeys a day from Miramar's Burnham Wharf.
