Bain Privy Council move

David Bain's legal team have applied to the Privy Council to have him acquitted.

A law newsletter last night said that, because of new evidence, the team had filed a petition to have the council recall its decision to grant Bain a retrial, which was issued in May last year.

The retrial is scheduled for next year.

Bain was convicted of the 1994 murders of his parents and three siblings and was imprisoned until his release following the Privy Council decision last year.
