Baby death: woman charged

A 21-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of an 11-month-old baby, who drowned in the bath this year while in the woman's care.

She appeared in the Waitakere District Court yesterday morning charged with manslaughter.

Details of the charge say she neglected a legal duty to provide the necessaries of life, therefore causing the manslaughter of the baby girl.

The woman, who was granted name suppression, was remanded on bail until later this month.Hurt man still unidentified
