Two-car crash on Auckland’s Upper Harbour Motorway triggers delays, heavy congestion

Traffic is banked-up on Auckland’s Upper Harbour Motorway after lanes became blocked by a two-vehicle crash.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is warning motorists travelling eastbound of delays on State Highway 18, which connects the North Shore to West Auckland, as a result of the collision.

Police were notified of the crash near the Tauhinu Rd off-ramp in Greenhithe at around 6.10am. “There are no reports of injury,” a police spokesperson said.

Vehicle movement has been restricted during the morning commute, with traffic cameras near the scene showing heavy congestion on the eastbound lanes.

The scene of the crash was cleared by 7am, NZTA said, although crawling traffic remains.

“Allow extra time while congestion eases,” NZTA said.
