Elderly man who went missing in Hobsonville, West Auckland, found ‘safe and well’

Police have found an 82-year-old man who went missing in Hobsonville this morning.

An elderly man reported missing in West Auckland earlier today has been found “safe and well”.

Police had earlier released an appeal for the public’s help to locate an 82-year-old man reported missing in the Hobsonville area this morning.

In an update just after 6pm today, Counties Manukau Police confirmed the man “has been located safe and well”.

Earlier, police said the man was wearing a straw hat, a black jacket with a red collar, blue pyjama pants and black gumboots when he went missing.

Police described the man as about 175-178cm tall and walks stooped over.

Police said they were “concerned for his welfare and urge anyone with information or sightings to come forward”.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our original post,” Counties Manukau Police said, following the discovery of the man.
