This incident comes weeks after a fire tore through buildings on Onehunga Mall, forcing some stores to close.
Police have responded to a report of a serious injury on Onehunga Mall.
Fire crews fought the January 25 blaze after it broke out at a two-storey building, an NZME photographer on the scene said at the time.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the cause of the fire was undetermined because of the damage done to the building, while Business Onehunga manager Victoria Puxty said the building which caught fire had to be demolished because of safety concerns.
Puxty told the Herald businesses had been hit hard because part of the road had been closed, making it difficult for people to park or drive in the area.
