The young person has been charged with assault and was due to appear in the North Shore Youth Court this morning.
Police will continue to investigate the incident and are encouraging anyone who witnessed or has information on the assaults to contact 105, either online or by phone, quoting the file number 260106/5001.
It comes weeks after a 16-year-old boy was allegedly violently attacked on a North Shore bus.
The boy was on the NX1 bus from Albany to the Hibiscus Coast last month when he was hit by a teenage girl, who was within a group of about seven other teenagers.
Senior Sergeant Brett Henshaw said police interviewed the complainant and were awaiting CCTV footage to assist in progressing the inquiries.
Auckland Transport group manager for public transport operations, Rachel Cara, said it was assisting police with the matter.
