A serious crash has closed Pine Valley Rd in Dairy Flat, coming after a section of Auckland’s Northern Motorway had been closed for about two hours due to a police incident, while the city’s Northwestern Motorway was also backed up because of a truck crash.
Police said emergency services wereat the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on Pine Valley Rd, reported to them at 12.50pm.
The road is closed while emergency services work at the scene.
Earlier, police said they were called to an incident on the Northern Motorway at around 10.50am.
There was a full closure of northbound traffic on the motorway at Greville Rd as they responded to a serious incident.
Hato Hone St John confirmed to the Herald they were also at the scene.

Motorists using the motorway network were advised to delay travel if possible and follow suggested diversions.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said motorists were advised to exit via the Greville Rd off-ramp and continue to Albany Expressway, then turn right on to Oteha Valley Rd.

Elsewhere, traffic started to back up on the Northwestern Motorway after a small truck hit a car near Bond St.
