Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said that while the man’s identity remains unknown, police have located “several items of interest” which are undergoing forensic testing.
“It’s still early stages in our inquiries but we hope these will yield further lines of inquiries.
“We can also release that the male is believed to be within the age of 16 to mid-20s, based on the description from occupants of the property.”
Police also say the man is possibly a Pacific Islander and around 1.72m-tall.
He had a neck tattoo of a gothic or Irish clover, or similar, and a rat’s-tail type of haircut. He wore red and white striped candy cane boxer shorts.
“Based on what the male has been described as wearing, we believe he is likely local to the area,” Kirk said.
Kirk said one of the occupants initially could not identify the person in the darkness.
“Initially it was unclear who the person was in the darkness, but it was soon apparent that the male was not known to them.
“An occupant has screamed, startling the male and he has run from the address.”
The man was last seen heading towards Leaside Lane.
Police are asking anyone who might know this man to contact police on 105 using the reference number 260417/6763.
