Auckland hit-and-run: Driver flees scene, pedestrian injured

A driver, who allegedly fled the scene after hitting a pedestrian in Auckland last night, has handed themselves in to police.

Emergency services responded to the crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Roscommon Rd shortly before 10pm.

Police said the vehicle did not remain at the scene, while the pedestrian was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver later went to a police station and is co-operating.

Hato Hone St John said it was notified of a motor vehicle accident in Clendon Park at 9.54pm and responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit, and one manager.

“Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Middlemore hospital in a serious condition.”
