A man armed with a knife tried to rob a Beachlands store this morning.
Police said the man entered a store on Third View Ave in Beachlands, East Auckland about 10.30am armed with a knife.
He showed the shop assistant the knife and demanded money, but was given none and
fled the scene, a police spokeswoman said.
The police helicopter was used to try to find the man, but was unsuccessful.
Officers remain at the scene and are continuing to look for the man.
