Asians given building rules

Korean and Chinese residents are being offered a free booklet in their native languages explaining North Shore City Council rules for building and developing properties.

The city had several building and construction companies run by Korean and Chinese residents, said council compliance spokesman Chris Randell.

It was felt they at times struggled to understand legal requirements because of the language barrier.
