Save Four Asian tourists are facing life in prison after being caught allegedly trying to smuggle over 12kg of methamphetamine into the country.
Customs officers stopped the tourists at Auckland International Airport on Saturday. The seized drugs had a total street value of around $12 million.
Two men and two women
appeared in the Manukau District Court today charged with importation and possession of a class A controlled drug.
They remain in custody until their next court appearance.
