A man has been charged with arson after a fire in suburban Christchurch early yesterday morning.
Firefighters were called to the "well-involved building fire" on Ferry Rd, Christchurch, about 4am.
Four fire engines, from three different local stations, were sent to the fire.
A fire investigator visited the property yesterday
and a 31-year-old man was arrested last night.
Police said the man appeared in Christchurch District Court today charged with arson.
Investigations were ongoing.
