Two men have been arrested in relation to an alleged kidnapping near Arrowtown on November 26, after coming forward to police on Friday.
Queenstown Police yesterday confirmed two men, both aged in their 20s, made contact with police separately through their respective solicitors and have made statements to police.
Bothare facing charges of aggravated wounding and kidnapping and have been given bail to appear at the Queenstown District Court on December 12.
The Ministry of Justice last week confirmed charges were laid on Friday afternoon, but could not provide any details.
This follows an early-morning attack on a Cromwell man (28) and his girlfriend (23) by balaclava-wearing assailants near the Crown Range Rd intersection with State Highway 6. The man, Jason Wynyard, was bundled into a car and driven to Arrowtown, where he was dumped on the roadside.
The latest confirmation brings the total of arrests made to three, after 20 year-old Rachel Maree Faul (20), receptionist, of Speargrass Flat, was arrested the day after the attack.
She was remanded in custody to Christchurch Women's Prison following a bail hearing before Judge Raoul Neave in the Queenstown District Court last Thursday.
Faul is charged with intending to commit a crime, namely assault by violent means, rendering Mr Wynyard incapable of resistance; and unlawfully carrying him off without his consent with intent to cause him to be confined, both charges laid indictably.
