An arrest warrant has been issued for a chronic fine defaulter after he failed to appear in Lower Hutt District Court.
Nathan James Bentley, 21, from Upper Hutt, has outstanding fines of more than $90,000 and was due to appear before Chief District Court Judge David Carruthers
Bentley had $93,000 in fines last year for driving offences, infringement fees, theft and non-payment of fines, and faced charges of breaching periodic detention and community work services.
On March 3 Judge Carruthers said: "I am seriously thinking of imprisonment. I am so sick of this."
