Arrest made after AOS callout

A person is in custody after a domestic incident near the Napier-Taupo highway this afternoon.

Inspector Kevin Kalf says the incident involving a firearm sparked an Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) callout on Waitara Road near the Mohaka River Bridge on State Highway Five.

He says an ambulance was also sent to the property but it is not known whether anyone was injured. The AOS has now been stood down.
