Arrest after shot fired at milk tanker

A 22-year-old Southland man is due in Invercargill District Court this morning after a milk tanker was shot at yesterday, sparking an armed offenders squad callout.

The driver reported a bullet had hit his cab at Winton, 30km north of Invercargill just after 1am yesterday.

Police spoke to four people after the incident and one had now been charged. Alcohol was involved, Senior Sergeant Dave Raynes said.
