Arrest after graffiti on Mediaworks HQ targets Paul Henry

One person was arrested after graffiti insulting broadcaster Paul Henry was scrawled on the headquarters of TV3 owners MediaWorks today.

The graffiti was "along the lines" of "F*** Paul Henry," the Auckland police district command centre said.

"He was the target of it," the DCC added.

"Somebody was seen graffiti-ing their building and was subsequently arrested."

A court appearance for the alleged culprit was possible tomorrow morning, the DCC staffer added.

The graffiti attack was carried out at Mediaworks' offices in Flower St, Eden Terrace.

TV3 reported the attack was carried out in full view of staff, who said the man was mostly calm "but asked repeatedly why they 'were trying to protect' the broadcaster".

Henry was mobbed and spat at during a protest outside SkyCity in May.

Earlier today, a man accused of shoving and spitting at Henry was found guilty.

The 35 year-old appeared in Auckland District Court this morning where he was found guilty of assault.
