Armed robbery in South Auckland

Police are hunting a number of offenders after an armed robbery in South Auckland on Friday.

Inspector Shawn Rutene said that at 1.30pm police received reports of an aggravated robbery at a Kiwibank and NZ Post store in Takanini.

"An unconfirmed number of offenders have entered the shop and weapons were presented," he said.

"The offenders have left the shop with an undisclosed amount of cash."

Rutene said no one has been seriously injured.

"However one person received minor injuries to their leg."

Police found the robbers' getaway car this morning.

"It was found nearby and is being forensically examined," a police spokesperson said.

"Police are continuing to make further inquiries into the incident."
