Three armed robbers who held up a Christchurch pub at closing time have been caught on security camera.
Detectives have released images of the men with firearms and a crowbar entering Coasters Tavern in Daniels Rd, Redwood shortly after 11pm on Friday.
They forced staff and patrons to lie downwhile they emptied out the safe, tills and pokie drawer of an undisclosed sum of cash.
Detective Sergeant Richard Quested, head of the investigation, has now released security camera images from the incident, which he said has given them a solid lead.
"At least one of the three offenders is partly visible in these images. We are now appealing to the public for any help they can give police in identifying those responsible for this crime.
"We also want to hear from anybody who may have seen any suspicious or unusual activity in the area around the Redwood shops and Daniels Rd on Friday night."
Two offenders were described as wearing black clothing, while the third was wearing blue overalls.
