Armed police responding to incident in Fitzroy

The New Plymouth Armed Offenders Squad was called out to an incident near the town centre, following reports of a person with a shotgun.

Police cordoned off Clemow Rd as a precaution.

Fitzroy Primary School was asked to bring its children inside as a precaution.

However, a spokesperson from the school said the incident has now passed.
