Armed police hunting for a wanted person have raided a home in Ashburton this morning.
A police spokeswoman said the operation, which began around 10am, had finished.
Parts of Tinwald were cordoned off as police searched a private property in Johnstone St.
It was not know if anyone had been
arrested.
People posted on social media seeing a fleet of police cars including dog vehicles heading south from Rakaia towards the Canterbury township.
A spokeswoman said the operation ended around 11.40am and armed police had since left the township.
