An armed man has been arrested in Christchurch after an Armed Offenders Squad call-out early today.
A police spokesman said police were called to an address in Worcester St earlier this morning where it was reported a 51-year-old intoxicated man was in possession of a firearm.
Police were ableto subdue the man and he was arrested.
He was due to appear in the Christchurch District Court on firearms offences.
