Armed Hamilton couple wanted

A potentially armed Hamilton teenager and his 22-year-old girlfriend are being hunted by police after failing to appear in court.

Tukino (known as Tuki) Te Takinga Te Rangi, 19, was using methamphetamine and had access to firearms so should not be approached, Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said.

Police described him as Maori of medium build.

His girlfriend Laurissa Tukaki of Hamilton was also wanted.

"We know that they frequent the Huntly, Tauranga, Katikati and Taupo areas and are actively avoiding the police," Mr Thornton said.

Anyone who saw them or knew where they were should contact Hamilton police.
