The producer of "Location, Location, Location" admits the TV programme may have confused viewers into thinking celebrity salesman, Michael Boulgaris, breached auction rules.
Mr Boulgaris was cleared by the Real Estate Institute today over allegations he used a phantom bidder to push up the price of a house on
auction.
The producer of the show, David Baldock, says the implication was a genuine mistake.
He says the show was trying to include information about phantom bidding - even though it wasn't happening at the auction being filmed.
He says he is sorry if Mr. Boulgaris felt mis-represented.
Auckland Real Estate Institute president Terry Doherty says the issue doesn't end there, however, and a complaint against the show may be laid with the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
