AOS call out in South Auckland

The Armed Offenders Squad has been called out to a South Auckland house to search for a man wanted on firearms charges.

More than a dozen officers surrounded an address near Airfield Rd and called out by loudspeaker for people inside to come out, said an nzherald.co.nz cameraman at the scene.

A man had been taken into custody for questioning while officers continued to search the house.

Inspector Gary Hill told the cameraman that police thought a man wanted for some time would be at the address.
