KEY POINTS:

Today is Anzac Day, which commemorates those who died in war and honours returned servicemen and women. April 25 is the anniversary of the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps at Gallipoli in 1915. Here is a guide to services from 8am in the upper North Island.

AUCKLAND REGION

Citizens' service at Cenotaph, Auckland War Memorial Museum, at 11am. Assemble at 10.30am for veterans' parade for 10.45am departure.

Avondale

Assemble for parade at RSA clubrooms in Layard St at 9.30am. Parade begins at 9.40am along Layard St, Rosebank Rd, Great North Rd, to Avondale War Memorial Reserve for service at 10am. At 10.30am parade returns along Great North Rd, Crayford St, to the clubrooms in Layard St.

Birkenhead

Citizens' service Birkenhead War Memorial Park, Mahara Ave, Birkenhead (10am).

Devonport

Citizens' service Devonport Cenotaph (10am). RNZ Navy march with band.

East Coast Bays

Citizens' service Cenotaph, beach front (8.45am). March leaves RSA at 8.30am.

Glen Eden

Citizens' service Waikumete Cenotaph (11am). Assemble opposite Sarona Ave at 10.45am for parade.

Great Barrier

Noon, Tryphena Hall.

Grey Lynn

Parade assembles 9.30am at the corner of Castle St and Richmond Rd, moves off at 9.45am. Service at 10am in front of the RSA clubrooms.

Helensville

Citizens' Service, War Memorial Hall, Commercial Rd (11am). Parade assemble (10.45am) corner Commercial Rd and Rata St.

Henderson

Citizens' service at RSA, Railside Ave, Henderson (10.30am). Parade starts outside fire station, Railside Ave, at 10.25am.

Hobsonville

Muster at 10.40am at Hobsonville Primary School, march at 10.50am, service at RSA at 11am.

Howick

Citizens' service at Stockade Hill (11am).

Laingholm

Service at Laingholm Hall, 10.30am.

Kaipara

Citizens Service (11am) Parade Commercial Rd, Citz Service at War Memorial Hall

Manurewa

Civic parade, assemble 2-8 Maich Rd (9.45am).

Mt Albert

Parade at 9.20 am. Assembly in car park near the shops on Alberton Ave at 9am. Service at Mt Albert War Memorial 9.30am-10.30am.

Mt Roskill

Parade assembles at the intersection of May Rd and Cullen Ave, 9am. Moves off at 9.20am to Cenotaph and War Memorial Hall. Service at 9.30am. Concludes at 10.15am.

Mt Wellington-Panmure

Citizens' service Community Hall, Pilkington Rd, Panmure (9.30am).

New Lynn

Citizens' service New Lynn RSA (9.30am). Veterans' parade, assemble at 8.45am at New Lynn War Memorial to move off at 9.15am.

Newmarket

Parade and service, assemble at 9.30am at RSA clubrooms in Melrose St. Parade begins at 10.15am and travels to the new memorial area at Olympic Pool Reserve then returns to wind up at the clubrooms at approximately 11.30am.

Northcote

Citizens Service (10.45am) Northcote War Memorial Hall, Rodney Rd, Northcote.

Onehunga

Parade, assemble at 9am on corner of Trafalgar St and Onehunga Mall to depart at 9.30am. Ending up at the RSA clubrooms, Princes St, Onehunga, at 11am.

Orakei

Parade assembles at 10.15am at Kupe St carpark. Departs at 10.20am and travels to the Orakei RSA clubrooms at 178 Kepa Rd, for a service outside the clubrooms. Ends by 11.30am.

Otahuhu

Parade assembles 9.30am at intersection of Piki Thompson Way and Mangere Rd. Departs at 9.45am. Service at 10am in front of the Cenotaph at the intersection of Mangere Rd and Great South Rd. March continues after service at 10.40am, finishing at the Otahuhu Working Men's Club, King St, 10.45am.

Papakura / Drury

Citizens' services: War memorial, Papakura (9am), and war memorial, Tui St, Drury (11am).

Papatoetoe

Citizens' service, 10.30am at the RSA, 22 Wallace Rd, Papatoetoe. Assemble, school corner, 10am.

Piha

Assemble at Piha RSA, 3 Beach Valley Rd, Piha (1.45pm).

Pt Chevalier

Assemble for parade at 10.15am in Alberta St. Starts at 10.30am. Ends at RSA clubrooms, 1136 Great North Rd, at 10.45am.

Pukekohe

Citizens Services (9am) Bombay Hall; (9am) Maramarua Cenotaph; (9.30am) Buckland Cenotaph; (10.30am) Waiau Pa Hall; (11am) Pukekohe Civil Service Town Hall, Cnr Edinburgh & Wesley Sts; 11am Tuakau Civil Service, Hall.

Riverhead

Wreath laying ceremony, Riverhead War Memorial Park (9am).

St Heliers

Assemble at Goldie St carpark adjacent to Vellenoweth Green at 9.45am. Moves off at 10am along Tamaki Drive to the Brookfield Memorial for a service, 10.25am, proceeds along Turua St to the Tamaki Ex-Services Hall.

Silverdale / Orewa

Citizens' services: Silverdale RSA (11am), Silverdale Memorial Park Wreath-laying (12.15pm), Remembrance Reserve Orewa (12.40pm) and Upper Waiwera Cenotaph (2.30pm).

Swanson

Citizens' service, Swanson RSA, 663 Swanson Rd (9am). Fall-in 8.35am, parade at 8.45am.

Takapuna

Assemble at 9.10am at Lake Rd end of Sanders Ave, parade leaves at 9.25am to The Strand, where a commemorative service begins at 9.30am.

Te Atatu

Citizens' service, Te Atatu Community Centre (10am). Assemble for parade at Hereford St (9.45am).

Titirangi

Citizens' service march from township to War Memorial Hall (10:15am) service begins 10:30am

Waiheke Island

Civil service, assemble for parade on Belgium St (10.45am). Departs 10.50am for service in front of Cenotaph, over by 11.30am.

Waitakere City

Citizens' service at Waitakere RSA, 39 Township Rd, Waitakere (11am).

Waimauku

Service and Memorial Hall (11am). March back to RSA for wreath laying (11.30am)

Waiuku

Citizens Services (9am) Awhiti Central Cemetery, Kemps Rd, Awhiti; (10.20am) March off to Cenotaph from Town Hall, Cnr Victoria Ave & Queen St

NORTH

Dargaville


Citizens' services: (10.30am) Memorial Hall, Hokianga Rd, Dargaville; (10.30am) Ruawai Tokatoka Memorial Hall, Wharf Rd, Ruawai.

Hakaru

Hakaru and Districts RSA in Settlement Rd will hold a commemorative service at 11am at the RSA. Assemble at 10am, march on at 10.30am.

Hokianga

Citizens' services: (9am) Hokianga Memorial Arch, Kohukohu; (11am) Opononi War Memorial Hall; (1pm) Waiotemaramara Memorial.

Kaitaia

Citizens' service at the Community Centre at 11am.

Kaikohe

Commemorative service at Okaihau College Hall at 11am.

Kaipara

Parade at 11am on Commercial Rd, Helensville, followed by service at RSA.

Kawakawa

Commemorative service following a march. Assemble before 9am at the library downtown.

Kerikeri

Veterans' breakfast 8.30am, RSA. Parade and service at RSA starting 10am. Cobham Rd. Citizens Service (10.30am) Kerikeri RSA, Cobham Dve.

Leigh

Ceremony at Leigh Cemetery (11am).

Mangonui

A commemorative service and parade will start at 11am at the Mangonui Hall.

Matakohe

Citizens' service at Matakohe Kauri Museum, Church Rd (10am).

Ruawai

Citizens' service at the War Memorial Hall, Wharf Rd (10.30am).

Russell

Citizens' service, fall-in (10.30am); Cenotaph (10.50am); Service (11am); Church Parade (12.15pm) to Long Beach Cemetery.

Waipu

Citizens' service Presbyterian Church, The Centre (11am).

Warkworth

Civic service from Anglican Church, march to War Memorial, Church Hill (10.40am).

Whangarei
