But Bali's district court says it didn't receive notice by the deadline - from either de Malmanche or the prosecution - and has declared the sentence final, 3 News reported tonight.
An appeal could have seen the sentence increased to the death penalty.
De Malmanche is serving his time in Kerobokan jail, where Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran served time before they were executed in April.
Yesterday one of de Malmanche's children updated a Facebook page set up to support their father.
"Good progress is being made for Dad's positive outreach in the prison. Watch this space. Send your love and positivity to Dad," they said.
Last week they said de Malmanche would be grateful for visitors in Kerobokan.
"For anyone who would like to visit Dad in Kerobokan, let us know and we can help with information if you need it. You don't have to bring anything special, Dad would just be grateful for the presence of a visitor," they said.
"It can be a daunting thing to visit this place, but worth the experience. Best days to visit are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, where you can sit together in the public visiting area. Tuesdays and Thursdays you will be a room split by bars, where you have to stand to talk to the prisoner."
