Coddington, a 2nd dan black belt in kyokushin karate, went on to write, sing and play guitar for the band Duchess, which released a six-track EP in 2005.
She also has performed and toured with the likes of Fly My Pretties and Eru Dangerspiel, and has played tour support as well for Tom Jones.
She cites her time in Duchess and Handsome Geoffrey as musical influences and her latest single release alongside Auckland-based musician Sean 'SJD' Donnell, Make You Mine, comes after the duo dropped their first single together, Bird in Hand, in May.
Coddington called on the directorial talents of Aidee Walker for the accompanying video for Make You Mine after "the great reception and reviews" of the Bird In Hand video, which was their first collaboration.
Anna Coddington plays King Street Live in Masterton on October 5. Tickets cost $15 each and are available online at underthereader.co.nz.
