Alleged cop shooter Murray Toleafoa made a brief reappearance in court today.
Toleafoa, 30, is charged with attempted murder and unlawful use of a firearm after allegedly shooting at but not hitting a police officer who stopped the car he was in on Mayoral Drive in central Auckland early onJune 8.
The bullet passed close enough to leave burns on the officer's forearms.
Toleafoa was arrested after more than four days on the run and the woman who was allegedly driving the car, Toleafoa's 20-year-old girlfriend Nadia Ball.
She was also arrested and charged with unlawful posession of a pistol.
Toleafoa was arrested in dramatic fashion by members of the armed offenders squad in a supermarket carpark hours after the Herald published hundreds of wanted posters at points of sale around the city.
Ball appeared briefly in Auckland District Court on Monday and shew as further remanded on bail to reappear on August 15 for a plea inquiry.
